Barcelona Face Tricky Fixture Away at Deportivo La Coruna
Barcelona (4/6) travel to the Estadio Riazor on Saturday evening to take on Deportivo La Coruna in a fixture Barcelona haven’t won since March 2005.
Last season it took a goal from Samuel Eto in the 89th minute to rescue a 1-1 draw for the current League Champions – and with Deportivo showing good form this season, currently occupying 5th place in the league, just three points behind Real Madrid – this looks like being a hard game once again for Barcelona.
Deportivo (4/1) are unbeaten in their last five league matches having won three and drawn two. Their home form is good, recording four wins, one draw, and just one loss. They have only failed to find the back of the net in the league once this season and have managed to keep a clean sheet on an impressive seven occasions.
Barcelona won comfortably midweek 2-0 against basement club Xerez but looked a bit lacklustre having being involved in two massive fixtures within the last week against Inter Milan and of course, Real Madrid. With a couple of players still returning from injury, including Ibrahimovic and Ballon d’Or winner Leo Messi, Barcelona will have to be at their best and play better than they did against Xerez if they are to leave Riazor with all three points.
This game has the potential to go either way so expect both teams to score odds-on at 4/6. However, despite this being a ‘Barca bogey ground’, if the Catalans play to their full potential there will be nothing Deportivo can do to stop them. Guardiola has probably given his side a rocket after the display against Xerez so the current Champs should respond by claiming all three points at the Riazor for the first time in over four years.
Put your money on Barcelona to win and over 2.5 combined goals to be scored in the game at a nice 8/5.
