A casino manager has apologized for installing English-only machines.
Canadian blackjack fans who do not speak English will soon be able to take advantage of a new bilingual service at a casino in New Brunswick.
Steve Hancock, the casino’s general manager, stated that he regretted the installation of gambling machines which only cater for speakers of the English language.
French-Canadians may be more tempted to head down to the casino to try out their poker skills or abilities at the blackjack table after the apology from Mr Hancock.
Speaking to CBC News, he said: “I’m sure you can appreciate with the scheduling needs, we’re just working through the fine tuning to make sure we have someone who can speak both French and English on the blackjack.”
Mr Hancock explained that working in the New Brunswick casino is his first job in a bilingual province.
The new Moncton gambling centre was criticized by French speaking visitors for not offering them the opportunity to take part in some of the table games, as some of the casino staff are not bilingual.
